A number of tools have been developed for use by team leaders and members based on the material in Leading Teams.

Team Diagnostic Survey (TDS). The TDS is an instrument taken by team members to assess the quality of a team's design, leadership, and internal dynamics. We are now developing a version of the instrument that can be administered on the internet and that will automatically generate a feedback report, complete with visual profiles of a team's standing on key dimensions, for use in action-planning by teams and their leaders. Self-assessment Tools. We have developed a number of tools for use by team members in assessing their team's design, process, and progress. These tools include guidelines for launching a team, self-administering design and process checklists, guidelines for managing team meetings, a team debriefing procedure, and others.
